15 Things You Didn't Know About Best Robot Vacuum That Mops

The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops

Noah Pinsonnault works as a product analyst at Good Housekeeping's Home Care and Cleaning Lab.

He tests and evaluates cleaning appliances. His focus is on mopping robots and vacuum combinations. Multitaskers are ideal for those looking to get rid of mopping off their list of things to do. Some of them have excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Others even wash and refill mopping pads for a hands-free clean.

The Eufy S1 Pro

This is the model you should select if you're looking for an automatic vacuum cleaner that can also mop. It's smaller than other models which makes it easier to maneuver into tight spaces or under furniture. It has a 220-degree lidar, which when combined with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it some of the best navigation and object avoidance I've ever seen in a robot vacuum. It packs a powerful 4600mAh battery which lasts up to 170-minutes, if mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it can last longer in turbo). It will even return to the dock to top up its battery midway through cleaning.

It's fast and does a fantastic job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It cleans the carpeted rooms incredibly quickly and hardwood floors in the hallways, and living room in a single pass. The suction motor's 8,000pa makes short work of picking up dirt, droppings, and pet hair. Carpet detection increases power automatically when it comes in contact with carpets and the two side brushes help to tease out debris from corners.

The mopping performance is less impressive, though not by much. The rotating mop spins fast and uses 2.2lbs to clean dirt and stains. I've noticed that the front arms extend out a bit more than other robots, which can be helpful to get into tight corners and on baseboards. Those same front arms can also be used to clean up larger debris, like broken toys and fallen books.

The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mops and vacuums I've tried. It doesn't produce the same amount of noise when mopping or vacuuming, and is much quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it has to use a proprietary mopping solution and is sold separately. It's easy to install and performs well however, this is something that you'll need to be aware of when you purchase this vacuum for the sole purpose of it mopping.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo is different from other robot vacuums in its class. It is equipped with a broad array of features that make it a great choice for homeowners who want a highly effective, versatile and adaptable cleaning machine.

The device comes with an impressive and powerful cleaning system that integrates LiDAR sensors with an RGB camera to map the home and detect furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean effectively and efficiently. This will ensure a thorough and consistent clean, while also being relatively fast.

In terms of mopping, Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads are capable of reaching many different surface areas. This includes corners or baseboards, as well as other hard-to-reach areas. The side brush can be stretched out to reach the floor near to the walls and other fixtures. The mop pads can also be washable and can be dried to reduce odors and prevent buildup.

Another feature worth mentioning is the customization options that are available through apps. The Q Revo lets you adjust the intensity of its suction and choose between a back-andforth or more random patterns. You can also select the number of passes, which determines how fast it can move around your home. You can also decide to turn off the side brush to avoid damaging carpets and rugs.

The device is costly, but has many smart features. It is important to remember that the device will incur regular expenses, such as mopping supplies and regular maintenance. For example the brushroll should be replaced every six to twelve months or after 300 hours. The filter will need to be cleaned after 150 hours and the mop pad must be replaced every three to six months.

The robot vacuum mop is a top Amazon rating and comes with an array of physical automation features. The robot vacuum also comes with an energy button that doubles as a 'Clean button' and a Home button that allows it to go back home after cleaning. It also comes with a multi-functional dock that automatically empty the dustbin and refills its water tank to mop and washes and dries its mop pads.

The Shark Matrix Plus

The Shark Matrix Plus will be a good option for busy professionals or anyone looking to keep their home clean without spending too much time doing chores. It is a powerful machine with intelligent navigation, and long battery life that makes it easy to keep your home clean with minimal effort.

The Matrix Plus robot vacuum is a 2-in-1 vacuum and mop. It is able to perform mopping and vacuuming. The robot is divided into two modules which include a dry bin and water tank that can be snapped out and in and a mopping module that has a microfiber pad. It's a bit old-fashioned to have separate modules for vacuuming and mopping however it does mean you don't have to worry about changing out disposable bags or refilling the tank of water.

The Matrix Plus performed well at vacuuming and mopping. Its most impressive feature was its precise floorplan, which it uses to create an outline for cleaning. This made it easy for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture carpets, rugs, and other obstacles. The app allows you to create 'No-Go Zones' or virtual barriers that prevent certain areas from being cleaned by a mop.

We also found that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in picking up hair of pets. It was able to capture a lot of the hair that sheds from our cats. It even got into the nooks and crannies on our stairs, where other robots struggled. It was fairly quiet and even had some lovely jingles to let you know when it was about to start or finishing its work.

The app was too basic and you had to alter the modules every time you changed between mops and vacuuming. The app is not able to save multiple maps. This could be an issue if your house has a variety of floors. The Matrix Plus is a good option for those looking for a smart robot that can perform both mopping and vacuuming.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot vacuum that mops in our review, but it also has unique features that are worth a look. The X1 Omni is most well-known for its enormous dock that serves as a charging base for the robot, a sink for cleaning and two 4-liter water tanks.  robot vacuum cleaner cheap : a 2.5-liter dustbin and the 2.5 dust bin that is 2.5 liters.

The base also has a number of buttons to control the system. These allow you to manually start a cleaning task, recall the robot, or use the dock's automatic emptying process. Hold down two buttons to turn off the child lock. This is a nice feature for parents who are worried about their kids messing around with the vacuum.

Like other robotic vacuums the Omni Omni utilizes its camera to spot furniture and obstacles in its path and avoid them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system maps your home 10 times faster than conventional laser detection systems and is four times more precise in recognizing objects.

The X1 can be prone to get stuck if it gets entangled in an obstacle, such as the power cable that is draped over a rug. It won't work until you manually untangle it. This was a rare occurrence however, it was a bit frustrating because the X1 doesn't have an "stuck status" alert on its application.

Another issue that could be a problem is one of the biggest drawbacks is X1 Omni's inability to automatically change between vacuuming and mopping modes during a cleaning session. You will have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't too bad but the mopping pad isn't cleaned or dried between uses. This can lead to mildew and mold.

On the positive side it's worth noting that the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who conceptualized its modern and sleek base as well as mopping pad apparatus. It's a significant difference from the utilitarian black bases of rivals like Roborock or iRobot. It's also an excellent choice for the market that is dominated by boxes.
